PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The Plymouth Whalers played back-to-back-to-back games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The weekend lineup started in Windsor with a Thursday night game against the Spitfires. The Whalers won 4-3 with goals from Colin MacDonald, Stefan Noesen, Danny Vanderwiel and Jamie Devane.
The Whalers were back home on Friday where the rest of the weekend didn't go their way. The Owen Sound Attack jumped to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd period and never turned back, beating the Whalers 5-1 in front of their home crowd.
And the weekend had more bad news for Plymouth as they fell 9-1 to Guelph Storm on Saturday. That was the most goals Plymouth has allowed all season, and the most since Nov. 11 when Guelph beat them 8-4.
The Whalers (37-17-2-1) still sit atop the West Division with 77 points.
Plymouth has back-to-back home games this weekend starting Friday against the Oshawa Generals. The Sudbury Wolves of the Central Division visit Compuware Sports Arena on Saturday.
