Bright and delightful Sunday

Cool mornings will be followed by afternoon sunshine and comfortable evenings

DETROIT – The early part of this week begins bright and delightful. Cool mornings will be followed by afternoon sunshine and comfortable evenings for Tigers' and Lions' fans, alike.

Residents must remember to alert the authorities immediately if there are any downed power lines and be extremely careful when using generators. Temperatures will start in the 50s.

Sunday afternoon will be excellent for the International Powerboat Championship races on the Detroit River and circus fans attending the Universoul Circus near Chene Park. Mostly sunny skies will prevail with highs near 75 degrees.

Sunday evening will be perfect for baseball. First pitch of the Tigers' game against the Giants will be on time at 8pm ET at Comerica Park under fair skies and temperatures in the 60s. All the fans need are their Tigers hats and jackets and strong lungs to cheer the players on to victory.

Sunday night will be mostly clear and cool with lows in the middle 50s.

More sunshine returns Monday. Students will enjoy outdoor recess with highs near 75 degrees. Football fans and tailgaters will enjoy pleasant weather outside Ford Field before the Lions take on the New York Giants at 7:30pm ET.

Tuesday beings with partly sunny skies, and ends with late-day and nighttime showers. During the day, temps will be in the middle and upper 70s. Wednesday and Thursday will be wet with showers and thunderstorms and afternoon readings in the middle and upper 70s. The moist weather is ahead of chillier air for Friday and Saturday.
