Ann Arbor gets 7.1 inches of snow

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – There were 7.1 inches of snow on the ground Thursday morning in the city of Ann Arbor. 

That's according to the National Weather Service which reports more than 8 inches of snowfall in some areas of southeastern Michigan.

Here's a look at some of the snow totals across Metro Detroit:

  • Utica -- 9 inches
  • Clarkston -- 8.5 inches
  • White Lake -- 8.5 inches
  • Wixom -- 8.5 inches
  • Flint -- 7.9 inches
  • Holly -- 8 inches
  • Ann Arbor -- 7.1 inches
  • Howell -- 7.1 inches
  • Northville -- 7 inches
  • Wyandotte -- 6.5 inches
  • Detroit Metro Airport -- 6.3 inches (record)
  • Livonia -- 5.7 inches
  • Dearborn -- 4 inches

Meanwhile, Birch Run to north received 9.1 inches of snow. 

Some lake effect snow showers in the Thumb region could bring another inch or more in spots and reduce visibility and counties along Lake Huron, which are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Thursday.

However, for most of us the snow and the skies clear Thursday with plenty of sunshine.
