Here’s how you can get deals at downtown Ann Arbor businesses this month

ANN ARBOR – We’re going to let you in on a little secret.

Several downtown businesses are currently offering special discounts for customers for the month of February. But you have to know the phrase in order to receive the deals.

Simply mention “Main Street Ann Arbor, Can You Dig It” at these locations and receive the following:

• 10% off your entire bill at Of Rice & Men
• Free small drip coffee with a purchase of any food item at Bitty & Beau’s Monday-Friday (one free coffee per order)
• Free running hat with a purchase of a shoe, sock and insole at Fleet Feet (formerly Running Fit)
• Free wine tasting (up to six samples) at Cherry Republic

The promotion is meant to boost business during the South Main Street Water Main Project. Work is scheduled to begin on Feb. 20 and is expected to conclude on Aug. 25.

During the construction, South Main, Liberty, William and Huron streets will be affected.
