Furnace believed to be cause of $700K Ann Arbor apartment fire No injuries reported

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Officials have ruled a furnace the probable cause of an apartment fire in Ann Arbor that caused significant damage and displaced several people .
It happened Saturday, April 5, at the Arbor Landings apartment complex on Dexter Road.

(WDIV) According to authorities , first responders arrived and found the fire had already spread to the attic of two second-floor apartments. While fire damage was limited to only two units, water and smoke significantly damaged the other six units.
The fire caused an estimated $700,000 in damage to the building and its contents.
Authorities believe the fire was caused by a furnace , but they are unsure if the furnace was faulty or if combustibles were stored too close to the furnace.
