Trinity Health Ann Arbor announces renovation, expansion of Emergency Department

Construction expected to be completed late 2028

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Trinity Health Ann Arbor announced it will renovate and expand its Emergency Department in a multi-phased, three-year, $60.5 million project.

The new department will include the renovations of 44,600 square feet of its existing Emergency Department and an adjacent dialysis area, along with a 13,100-square-foot expansion. There will also be more private rooms and stretcher bays to tackle overcrowding issues.

Work is scheduled to begin this month and is expected to be completed in late 2028.

Lewis, president of Trinity Health Ann Arbor, Livingston, Oakland and Livonia. “Recently, that feedback has been clear — upgrade our Emergency Department to ensure an appropriate care environment to match the increasing complexity and evolving needs of those that entrust us with their care.”

The construction project is being funded through designated capital investment dollars from both Trinity Health’s national system office and Trinity Health Ann Arbor, along with donor support.
