TAYLOR, Mich. – The woman accused of fatally stabbing a 25-year-old man from Taylor last week has been charged with second-degree murder in the case.

The charges stem from an early morning incident July 2 in the parking lot of the Taylor Park Townhomes, where prosecutors allege Daniels stabbed the victim next to his vehicle. Police say when they arrived at the scene around 4:15 a.m., the man had already died.

Taylor Police Det. Lt. Joshua Schneider told Local 4 that Daniels tried to flee the scene in her vehicle, but was later found hiding in a bush. She allegedly tried to flee two more times before ultimately getting arrested.

Schneider indicated that the department’s preliminary investigation revealed the suspect had a prior history of domestic disputes, leading detectives to believe the stabbing was a domestic situation.

Neither the victim nor the suspect have any known connection to the apartment complex where the stabbing took place, Schneider said.

Daniels is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference at 9:30 a.m. July 13.
