Northern Michigan ice cream shop wins top spot in national contest

Traverse City – The results are in: Moomers Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City has been crowned the No. 1 ice cream shop in the nation.

This northern Michigan favorite beat out 19 other ice cream shops around the country in a new USA today poll.

The voting was based on reader submissions and votes. 

Moomers is famous for making more than 160 different flavors of ice cream.
