DETROIT – Local 4 wants to make your summer safer! Join us for our July Go 4 It event: First Aid Basics.

In partnership with the American Red Cross and U-M Dearborn, we’re offering a free 50-minute first aid class to help you prepare for everyday emergencies.

Topics will include how to properly care for cuts and bee stings, how to use an EpiPen, and how to help someone who is choking.

You’ll learn about water safety, how to recognize signs of internal bleeding, and much more. (Important note: This is not a certification class. It is for your general knowledge!)

The First Aid Basics event will be held Tuesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at U-M Dearborn’s Fairlane Center South location -- 19000 Hubbard Drive in Dearborn.

You can sign up for a time slot by clicking the link below -- there will be nine 50-minute sessions starting at the top of each hour. Walk-ins are also welcome. Grab a friend and come learn how to handle summer emergencies with confidence!
