How to de-ice your windshield with homemade solution

You might say one of the most agonizing things about winter is having to defrost or de-ice your windshield in the morning before you can hit the road.

Instead of the manual labor of scraping your windshield, try this homemade solution.

You need three things:

  • Water
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • An empty spray bottle
  • Mix:

    • Take 1 part water and 2 parts rubbing alcohol and combine them
    • Pour the mixture into the spray bottle

Now you can spray that mixture onto your windshield. The frost and ice should start to melt within a minute.

    Why it works:

    • The low freezing point of rubbing alcohol

Try this, and remember to leave the spray in your car.

    NEVER DO THIS:

    • Do not pour hot water on your cold window. The glass can crack.
