DETROIT – Researchers at are busy ranking schools at every level across the country. 

Now they're ranking the top private high schools in the United States based on "SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, private school ratings, and more."

Data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Education, Niche users, and the schools directly, the site says. 

With that in mind, here's how they rank the "best private high schools" in Michigan, complete with a letter grade:

1. Cranbrook Schools (Bloomfield Hills) -- A+
2. Detroit Country Day School (Beverly Hills) -- A+
3. Greenhills School (Ann Arbor) -- A+
4. The Roper School-Birmingham Campus (Birmingham) -- A+
5. Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit (West Bloomfield) -- A+
6. Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy (Pontiac) -- A+
7. Detroit Catholic Central High School (Novi) -- A+
8. Interlochen Arts Academy (Interlochen) -- A+
