DETROIT – Downtown Detroit has launched the 15-week holiday markets season as part of the Winter Magic in the Parks programming.
The programming includes Cadillac Square Lodge, Holiday Markets and Detroit's new Christmas tree farm. The events kicked off Nov. 17 with the annual Detroit tree-lighting ceremony. It's a partnership between Quicken Loans and the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
Cadillac Square features festively decorated venues, a lodge and holiday markets. There are more than a dozen glass stalls with local makers and entrepreneurs. The vendors sell all kinds of things, from clothing and jewelry to household items.
Capitol Park, located on State at Griswold, has also transformed for the winter season with a holiday market filled with glass stalls. At the center of Capitol Park is a Christmas tree farm lot where people can pick out a Michigan-grown tree.
At Campus Martius, people can enjoy ice skating, carriage rides and visits with Santa and experience food and entertainment.
