Santa Claus Girls of Kent County secure permanent space for toy-giving mission
KENT COUNTY, MI -- A volunteer group that works to provide Christmas gifts to Kent County children who otherwise wouldn’t receive any has found a permanent location to call home. The Santa Claus Girls of Kent County will now base all operations out of the former DeltaPlex building, at 2500 Turner Ave., just in time for the upcoming holiday season. The organization, founded by Arianna VanDoorn, provides gifts exclusively for Kent County children from families facing hardship and otherwise wouldn’t receive anything for Christmas. For the past two years, the nonprofit worked to provide for the local children and families by occupying donated locations to operate. To ensure the space can be leased for years to come, the Santa Claus Girls’ fundraising efforts are being accelerated.mlive.com
