DETROIT – Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for both men and women, often developing silently over years without warning signs.

However, doctors say you can assess your risk with a few simple numbers that are easy to check.

In honor of Heart Month, Dr. Frank McGeorge breaks down the key numbers to know and what they reveal about your health, starting with blood pressure.

Dr. Syed Ahsan, a vascular medicine specialist at Henry Ford Health, joined McGeorge to explain the importance of knowing your numbers.
