Treats are delicious to your pets, but they can also be a valuable tool when it comes to training your furry friends.
Devan Bianco from Michigan Humane joined “Live In The D” host Tati Amare to talk about how treats can be used to create positive associations for your pets when it comes to certain activities. Devan mentioned how treats can be great for training pets to be excited to go to the vet or get their nails trimmed. Devan said pets will work extra hard to get treats they love, such as very smelly treats.
Certain human foods are even okay to use as treats for your dogs. Here are Devan’s suggestions for dog treats:
Regular carrots (Not baby carrots)
Apples with no seeds
Plain Cheerios
Blueberries
Green beans
Michigan Humane is also trying to find a home for a two-month-old pit bull mix named Tennessee. Watch the video above to find out more about this adorable puppy.
