When it comes to barbecues and swimming, there are some things to think about

Labor Day weekend is the “unofficial” end of summer and with that comes some celebrations. It may be time spent around a barbecue with friends, or hitting the lake for a last swim of the season. With all this in mind, if pets are involved, you’ll want to make sure you take some steps to make sure they stay safe.
Anna Chrisman with Michigan Humane joined host Tati Amare and guest-host Jon Jordan on “Live In The D” to share some tips on what you should do. Chrisman suggests:
Keep your trash and food away from your pets. Make sure they are not getting into things that could potentially cause stomach issues, or worse.
Make sure you have your pet’s collar on at all times
Confirm your pet’s microchip information is up to date
Have a copy of vaccine records
Keep pets close to you and close to the shore if you’re swimming with them. Also, consider a pet life jacket for extra safety.
Chrisman also brought in a pet with her that is up for adoption. “Taz” is a female rabbit looking for a new home. Chrisman says in many ways caring for a rabbit is similar to caring for a cat.
Remember, the Mike Morse Law Firm will pay the standard adoption fee for anyone who adopts today’s pet. Also, if you have legal help, you can reach the Mike Morse Law Firm by clicking here.
