It’s time to step up your game inside your home with new designs and styles, which can enhance organization in any room of the house.
Diane Izejec, Design Consultant with California Closets, shared some ways to give your home a neat upgrade.
The first room she says you should consider organizing is your mudroom. This is the room of your house where everyone stores their shoes and coats after coming inside. With kids going back to school, this area can get messy quickly, so now is the perfect time to organize.
The mudroom is often the first room you see when coming into your home, so it’s a good idea to create an organizational system for this area to set the mood for the home. Keep in mind all the things you will need to store, like shoes, coats, scarves, gloves, and backpacks, and give everything a spot.
Second, pantries are another spot in need of some order. It can be a hassle to organize your groceries after shopping, but having a designated spot for everything and sticking to it will make finding what you need for dinner that much easier. Try using a pull-out basket, like California Closets has, which is great for storing fruits and vegetables so you don’t need to leave them out on the counter.
Finally, Izejec wanted to show us an organization method for the guest room. With people downsizing and working from home, you may no longer have a space for guests in your home, so this is where some transitional pieces come in handy. Izejec recommends trying a Murphy bed, that way you can fold up the bed when you don’t need it and you can still use the space in your everyday life.
