A 3-day weekend packed with fun

There’s something for just about everyone happening in and around the D

According to the 4Warn Weather team, snow is expected this weekend, so that should make a great back drop for an annual event. The Romeo Winter Fest is happening this weekend and will feature ice sculpturing, horse drawn wagon rides, kids activities, and more. The festival happens Saturday and Sunday, in Downtown Romeo.

If you’re looking to get out and enjoy nature, check out the “Owl Prowl” at Heritage Park in Farmington Hills. The event will take place on the outdoors trail and visitors will look and listen out for the creatures and learn about them and others. The event takes place Friday 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

It’s winter, but this event will put you in a spring mood. The “Ultimate Fishing Show” docks at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi and features just about everything for the angler or the angler at heart, including seminars, fishing gear, an indoor pond and more. The show runs Thursday through Sunday.

Lastly, there are several events taking place throughout Metro Detroit honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend through Monday. In Southfield, the city will host the 39th annual MLK Holiday Peace Walk. This years theme will be “Peace and Justice for the Next Generation.” The March takes place Monday at 9 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church and ends at the Southfield Pavilion.
