Spilling the truth about tea

Regardless of the time of year, you can cozy up and unwind with a cup of tea. Not only can tea make you feel relaxed, but it can also be beneficial to your overall well-being.

Nutrition and fitness expert Jody Trierweiler appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about the possible health benefits of tea.

When it comes to the differences between herbal tea and what we know as “regular” tea, Trierweiler talked about how all tea comes from the same plant called the Camellia Sinensis. What is actually classified as tea is all about the process of when the tea leaves are harvested into different types of tea, like green and black tea. However, when it comes to herbal tea, it is any infused hot drink that comes from any other plant.

Something that Trierweiler pointed out is that not all herbal tea is caffeine free. She suggests being more careful when reading the labels if you want a caffeine free herbal tea, as some herbal plants are caffeinated.
