Warm and more humid Wednesday in Metro Detroit before an unsettled pattern takes hold

Scattered shower chances will linger through the weekend

Enjoy another warm summer day across Metro Detroit before a more active weather pattern returns to Southeast Michigan. Expect mostly sunny skies today with afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. Humidity will also be on the rise, making it feel closer to 90 degrees during the peak heating of the afternoon. While the daylight hours will remain dry, the atmosphere will become increasingly unstable ahead of the next weather system.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into Southeast Michigan tonight, marking the beginning of a more unsettled stretch of weather that could last through the weekend and into next week.

While it’s still too early to pinpoint the exact timing of each round of rain, confidence is growing that off-and-on shower and thunderstorm chances will persist through the weekend and possibly into the middle of next week. There will also be dry periods between systems, so it won’t be raining continuously.
