With it being National Heart Health Month, it’s important to make sure the pets we have in our hearts have a healthy heart. Lidia Vesterfelt with Michigan Humane stopped by “Live In The D” to give advice on pet health.
“Heartworm is something that everybody needs to be aware of. Cats and dogs can get heartworms. It spreads through the bites of mosquitoes. So, those monthly preventives and then annual heartworm tests are going to be the best line of prevention against that,” Vesterfelt said.
