Sheryl Underwood is hitting the stage in our area for her signature style of stand-up that promises huge laughs and unforgettable moments. “Live in the D” welcomed her to the show to talk comedy, career, and what is next for this booked and busy talent.
“I would say from the times I’ve been here; B’s Comedy kitchen, Fox Theatre, and now coming to the Punchline, I think people know what I do,” Underwood said.
Whether she is talking career highs, personal insight, or what’s next in store, she brings all the energy and anticipation to the forefront. She most importantly reminded us that community service is key.
“I try to put into it what the audience can take…Right now I think we’re exhausted with political discussion, but we have to have enough of it. I do not want you to leave here with just that…I want you to leave knowing your rightful place in the community,” said Underwood.
Underwood’s upcoming tour, Mix and Mingle includes Sheryl, alongside Kyle Erby and Mike Washington. They perform at the Punchline Comedy Lounge in Southfield Friday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 24th at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. - or Sunday May 25th at 6:30 p.m.
