Add a watermelon wow factor to your summer gatherings

You can make edible centerpieces out of fruit

If you’re planning a get together for the 4th of July holiday weekend or beyond, you may want to consider adding an edible centerpiece to the celebration.

Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan shared some creative ways to turn watermelon into a work of art that’s sure to impress your guests.

One option is to create a basic basket by carving out a portion of the top of the watermelon. However, that’s just the beginning. More involved versions can be made by adding a theme.

While appearing on “Live In The D”, Jon showcased various edible art designs from a turtle to a hedgehog and even a “Jaws”-themed centerpiece.
