Last week on SNL, host Regé-Jean Page rocked pearl brooches during his opening monologue, and Local style editor Jon Jordan says that this is just the start of jewelry coming back into men’s fashion. It seems that young guys are embracing the trend a bit more readily, but it really can work for anyone. He said that it works for both formal and informal occasions, and it can be as easy as adding a simple metal clip if you’re not ready for pearls. This week’s winter weather has left us all bundled up, but taking care of winter clothes can be a bit of a chore. Local4 Style Editor Jon Jordan is here to let us know about some helpful tips to keep you looking your best during the polar vortex. Rock salt helps keep roads and sidewalks safe when it’s icy out, but it can also wreak havoc on your clothes. Instead of using cotton balls, try using a cheap washcloth in a matching color. Using a dark washcloth instead will prevent making a mess and save your clothes.

Jordan said that room dividers were particularly popular in the 1950s and 60s, so go classic with a mid-century modern look. He said that long gloves mimic the style of an evening glove and can look particularly fashionable with short sleeved or sleeveless shirts. Jordan was inspired by subscription box services, and came up with the idea to package holiday gifts in a similar way. The holiday gift boxes are also perfect for contact-free delivery for anyone spending the holidays socially distanced. To build your own unique gift box, Jordan suggests you start with a gift theme. For a more masculine box, Jordan turned an old wooden wine box into a holder for electronic gadgets and moisturizers. Another example was his citrus skincare box with a few products from Trader Joe’s.
