Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park: A First Look with Live in the D

Park expected to become one of Detroit’s premier outdoor destinations

Live in the D gave viewers a sneak peek Friday of the new Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, which officially opens to the public Saturday, Oct. 25.

The 22-acre riverfront park, located at 1801 W. Jefferson Ave., is the latest addition to Detroit’s revitalized waterfront. It features the Delta Dental Play Garden, a 2.5-acre Water Garden with walking paths and a fishing shoreline, and the William Davidson Sport House, which includes full-size basketball courts and recreational space.

The park is designed to connect the community to the Detroit River with areas for play, fitness and relaxation. The park has sweeping views, shaded picnic spots and vibrant green spaces.
