For most of us, Halloween is a time for indulging in sugar and sweets. Of course, you can still enjoy the candy bowl, but if you’re looking to balance out the treats with some smarter options, there are plenty of delicious swaps.

Jody Trierweiler, a fitness and nutrition expert, joined “Live in the D” to show off a few alternatives that still feel festive but are better for you.

These goodies are on theme for Halloween and make for the perfect sweet snack. Jodi explained the colorful packaging is enticing to kids, and they might not even realize it’s healthier.

While these candy alternatives are still sweet and include real sugar, you’ll find they have no artificial sweeteners, colors, or preservatives. Jodi advises parents to be cautious of their kids candy this Halloween and to check the labels for artificial dyes, corn syrup, and toxic chemicals.
