Thanksgiving trends for 2025

Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan talks all things Thanksgiving

Are you sticking with the Thanksgiving trends this year or switching things up for 2025?

During a Trending Tuesday segment on “Live In The D,” Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan highlighted the hot topics for this holiday.

First, Jon talked about a tradition that’s trending - the turkey. Eighty-four percent of people in a recent Martha Stewart/Butterball survey indicated that turkey would be their main dish at Thanksgiving.

Jon explained that another trend is the popularity of potlucks as a way to share the cost of higher food prices.

When it comes to Thanksgiving, it’s often about family and friends gathering around the table. Jon shared that large gatherings are the trend this year. The average number of attendees at Thanksgiving gatherings in 2025 is expected be nine people, according to Butterball.
