Smooth lines, refreshed confidence, and treatments that fit seamlessly into a busy lifestyle. Botox continues to be one of the most popular non-surgical options for looking more rested and youthful. Dr. James Bazzi with Northville Beauty Spa, stopped by “Live in the D,” to break down what Botox is, how it works, how long results last, and who it might benefit the most. “Botox is an injectable medication, and it’s placed into the muscle to weaken its function. What that does is, it improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
Dr. Bazzi, who is a trainer for Allergan Medical Institute, which is the maker of Boxtox, explains how the medication can be injected into several parts of the face. “When we go out and teach other providers across the nation, we teach them about the FDA approved areas, which are the 11 lines or the frown lines, the forehead lines that you see above the forehead and crow’s feet around the eyes, and then lastly the neck bands.” He said these are what they consider FDA approved indications, however; more advanced providers may treat other areas of the face. The treatment he said, gives the patient a more refreshed, younger appearance.
He said, patients over the age of 21 are good candidates, and depending on the person, the Botox lasts up to 3 or 4 months.
He showed examples of the outcomes on the show.
