As Michigan homeowners brace for another harsh winter, Rhett Stahovec, owner of Masters Roofing, joined “Live in the D” with an unexpected co-star: his dog, Milo.
“Milo’s our cute little dog. I had him on a job site when you guys were coming out to film some stuff,” Stahovec explained, recounting how the crew insisted the pup make his television debut. When asked whether Milo helps out with roof inspections, Stahovec didn’t hesitate: “He’s our top inspector.”
Beyond the mascot appearance, Stahovec used the segment to address how his company stacks up against competitors on price.
“Masters Roofing is never going to be like the cheapest option on the market because everything that we do is always very high-end,” he said. “It’s really impossible for us to be your cheap guy on the block. However, for what we do offer, we offer top of the market options as far as labor, material, and warranties.”
With colder weather approaching, Stahovec introduced a new fall-only offer aimed at catching small problems before they become costly ones.
“For $149, we will come out and make sure that your roof can actually get through the winter,” he said. “Realistically, we lose money on that. It’s our way of building a relationship with you now, and making sure you can get your house through the winter.”
He also teased a new initiative called the Masters Home Reset, designed to ease homeowners’ worries about the mess a roofing project can leave behind.
“Basically, our guarantee is that when we leave, your entire house is going to look better than when we got there,” Stahovec said.
Homeowners can also request a free inspection, which includes a detailed photo report and a roof health score.
“We have an algorithm that will actually give your roof a score from 0 to 100, showing you where you’re at as far as your lifespan,” Stahovec said.
