DETROIT – Three Powerball tickets good for $1 million each were sold in Michigan ahead of Wednesday night's $758 million jackpot drawing.

6.5 million tickets purchased in Michigan

As of 9 p.m. Wednesday, Michigan players had purchased 6.5 million tickets for Wednesday night's drawing, a Michigan Lottery spokesperson said.

There were 4.3 million tickets purchased Wednesday.

On average, players bought about 290,000 tickets per hour Wednesday.

The number of tickets purchased for this drawing was nearly double the 3.5 million tickets that Michigan players bought for Saturday night’s drawing, when the Powerball jackpot was $535 million.

Winning jackpot ticket sold in Massachusetts 

Meanwhile, the winning ticket for Wednesday night's drawing for $758 million, the second largest jackpot in the game's history, was sold in Massachusetts.
