2 shot, 1 fatally, at strip club on Detroit's southwest side

24-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries

DETROIT – One of two people shot in the parking lot of a strip club on Detroit's southwest side has died of her injuries, police said.

The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. in the 9000 block of Michigan Avenue at Club Venus. 

Police said the victims, a man and a woman, were entering their vehicle when another man approached them and fired shots at them.

The shooter fled through the parking lot and entered another vehicle before leaving the area.

The 24-year-old woman who was shot suffered a gunshot wound to her arm and the 23-year-old male victim suffered a non-life threatening shot to the hand.

Police said the woman died as a result of her injuries. 

The shooter is said to be a black male who was wearing a hooded sweater. He was seen leaving in a dark-colored, four-door sedan with three other individuals.

The Detroit Police Department has released surveillance video which shows the moments after the shooting.
