From wrinkles to skin cancer, there are dozens of reasons to run from the sun, but that sun-kissed look is always in style.
Ruth to the Rescue asked four volunteers to try four different self-tanners from the drug store and the department store.

Local 4's results will save your skin from dreaded orange streaks.
From the beach to the beds, millions of people still bake under dangerous UV rays, despite all the warnings. Self-tanner is safer, but it has a nasty reputation.
"When I see people who use self-tanner, they look orange and streaky and I don't really want that look," said Marissa Dangovian.
Ruth to the Rescue gave Dangovian the Tan Towel to test. It costs $24. One towel took care of Dangovian's whole body and five towels come in a box.
Jessica Divito tried Coppertone Endless Summer lotion. It costs $10.97.
"It's going on pretty smooth. It doesn't feel sticky. It feels like I just put lotion on," said Divito.
Her mother, Denise, tested Estee Lauder's self-tanner. It's $28.50 and contains a bronzer for instant color.
Neutrogena Micro Mist is meant to be the home version of full-body spray treatments spas use. It costs $12.89.
It goes on clear and the spray starts drying within seconds.
Craig Nelson tried the Neutrogena Micro Mist. He said it went on even and absorbed quickly.
"The biggest mistake people make is rushing through the process. That's when errors happen. That's when you get too much of the product in one area and that's when you end up with streaks," said Jon Jordan, Local 4's style expert.
After 24 hours, who had the best self tan?
Tan Towel: No streaks in sight and the tan is even. Two applications of Coppertone Endless Summer: Streak-free, but Jessica Divito has unwanted extra color. She said she had lines in between her fingers and around her nails from staining. The palms of her hands were a different color than the tops of her hands. Estee Lauder Bronzer: Denise Divito liked the instant tint. Because of the bronzer, she can see where it is being applied and it blends better. After two applications, Denise has no streaks and said the bronzer didn't wash off or get on her clothes. Neutrogena Micro Mist: Nelson is thrilled with his results after three applications. He said he'll cut back on visits to the tanning salon.
Neutrogena Micro Mist is Ruth to the Rescue's pick for Best In Faux, because it is easy to use, gave an even glow and is a bargain at $13.
