Only two of the people have been identified -- 21-year-old Tommie Kirkland and 21-year-old Angelo Patton.
Detroit Police Sgt. Gary Diaz said investigators think the killings could be connected to a drug cartel.
Police are specifically trying to identify one of the two remaining bodies and have come up with a facial reconstruction of someone who they say could be a drug addict in his 40s.
Kirkland's mother is making a public plea for anyone with information to come forward.
"No mother should have to have their child on a Crime Stoppers poster," she said.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to a conviction in the case.
Anonymous tips can be left at 800-SPEAKUP.
