Shooting at Garden City bar on New Year’s Day critically injures 2 Suspect surrenders to police
GARDEN CITY, Mich. – Police in Garden City are investigating a New Year’s Day shooting at a bar that left two people in critical condition.
According to authorities, police were called to Rockstarz Bar at about 4 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 1, on reports of a shooting in the parking lot.
First responders found two victims who had been shot and transported them to hospitals, where they remain in critical condition.
A nearby shooting in Inkster overnight is unrelated .
Police said the suspected shooter contacted police and turned themselves in. They surrendered to authorities at the Garden City Police Department at about 2 p.m.
Police spent much of New Year’s Day at the scene investigating and collecting surveillance video from surrounding businesses.
The bar remains closed.
