Waterford Man Killed In Mystery Attack

He Collapsed, Died After Suffering Multiple Gunshot Wounds

WATERFORD, Mich. – A 28-year-old Waterford man was walking with his girlfriend in the area of South Lynn and Lakeview early Sunday when a car pulled alongside of them.

According to witnesses, a man got out of the car and shot the victim, James Dean Odle, multiple times. Odle, a father of two, collapsed in a nearby yard where he died, and the shooter got back in the car, which drove away. Odle's girlfriend was able to run and was not injured.

At this point, it is not clear if the incident was random or if the victim was a target.

"It's very important that we get some help and get this individual off the street," said Sgt. Scott Good of Waterford police.

Police are describing the suspect vehicle as a white GMC Acadia or Chrysler Pacifica and the shooter is described as a black male with a thin build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and white and tan checkered shorts.
