Police say man robbed Charter One bank on Van Dyke Avenue

WARREN, Mich. – The Warren Police Department said a man robbed a bank Monday afternoon on Van Dyke Avenue.
Police said the man entered the Charter One bank at 23521 Van Dyke Ave., walked to the counter and jumped over it. He told two bank employees to lie down on the floor while he gestured that he had a gun in his jacket pocket.

He removed cash from three teller drawers and fled the bank with the cash.
Police said a driver was waiting outside in a Dodge Caravan. The driver never entered the store.
The robber was described as black, between 18 and 24 years old, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Police said he was wearing a green jacket with a hood, a white cloth over his face and dark brown boots.
