GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – A Grosse Pointe Park police officer has pleaded guilty to drunken driving and sentenced to probation.
On Nov. 16, Grosse Pointe Park Police Lt. John Kretzschmar was off duty and driving his own car when he struck another vehicle near 14 Mile and I-75 in Madison Heights, according to officers there.

Kretzschmar left the scene of the accident but was tracked down by police, who said his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.
Kretzschmar pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated and has been sentenced to fines, court costs and one year of probation.
