ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Police say this started when the husband returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
When David Cote returned home he started going through his wife Megan Cote's cellphone. He found out she had been cheating on him with another man.
Cote then decided to go to the man's house and start shooting, which is exactly what police said he did Friday night.
"The wife was having an affair with this man and the husband found out about it and went and shot the house up," said Roseville Police Deputy Chief James Berlin.
Police said David Cote went to the man's house which was nearby. He fired several rounds at the home as he drove by. No one was hit by the gunfire.
During an investigation, Megan Cote lied to police while trying to protect her husband, police said.
The couple face charges and could spend years in prison if convicted. The charges include attempted murder.
The Cotes are being held without bond at the Macomb County Jail.
