DETROIT – The Royal Oak Township supervisor pleaded guilty Monday to federal corruption charges.

William Morgan entered guilty pleas to charges accusing him of taking bribes from a contractor and steering a federal Housing and Urban Development project to that contractor.

Morgan also admitted he worked with that contractor and others to defraud the federal government out of money which was meant for an asbestos removal project.

He could face up to 5 years in prison when he is sentenced in August.
