Fundraiser is April 22 to benefit Brothers of Christian Instruction

DETROIT – Forty-two years after Detroit Cathedral High School closed, former students are returning to Detroit with a mission -- helping Haiti.
Men who attended the all-boys catholic school will take part in a fundraiser for the Brothers of Christian Instruction, which is the religious order that ran the school. Brothers of Christian Instruction have a mission in Haiti, as well as schools that were impacted by the Haiti earthquake in 2010. Two of the brothers were killed in the earthquake. 30 people also died in one of the schools which was destroyed.

An event called "The Last Hurrah" will be held on Sunday, April 22 to raise funds to help rebuild the school and to help the Brothers of Christian Instruction. "The Last Hurrah" is set for April 22 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Gymnasium, near John R. and Belmont in Detroit.
About $60,000 has already been raised for the order.
