4 men charged with Detroit dollar store robbery, hostage situation
Men accused of storming into Dollar General on 7 Mile Sunday night
DETROIT – The Wayne County Prosecutor's office on Thursday said four people had been charged with the robbery and hostage situation that unfolded in Detroit Sunday night.
Charged are Robert Lee Shears,18, Dwayne Anthony Dupree, 26, Julius Evan Waters, 27, and Donavan Ruffin, 16.

They are accused of holding up a Dollar General on East Seven Mile Road and taking hostages inside the store after police surrounded the building.
Shears and Ruffin are charged with armed robbery carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. Dupree is charged with being an accessory and with larceny. Waters is charged with larceny.
Ruffin is a juvenile but will be tried as an adult.
