LA Fitness in Southfield closed Tuesday for chemical spill

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Local 4 has learned that the LA Fitness gym on Northland Drive in Southfield had to close down for a few hours Tuesday because of a chemical spill.

The gym told Local 4 that a bottle of chlorine was accidentally spilled and mixed with a PH reducer, causing some fumes. But after a couple of hours of aeration, the gym is slated to reopen at 5 p.m.
