Missing Mother: Family fears the worst

DETROIT – A local mom mysteriously vanishes, now one week later a body is found and her family fears it is her.

An unidentified woman's body was found behind the Rouge Park horse stables on the west side of Detroit on Wednesday.

Anthony McGeary and his son were looking for turtles when they saw the body in floating in the water.

"Heartbreaking. I mean it's somebody' daughter, mom, sister and its just disturbing to say the least," said McGeary.

Sources tell Local 4, investigators are looking at this discovery and the mysterious disappearance of 46-year-old April Lynn Black. Last Wednesday evening, the mother of six drove to a 7/11 at Joy and Telegraph roads in her 2001 blue Ford Taurus. She hasn't been seen since.

The medical examiners office confirms the body found is that of a white woman. She was partially clothed and her body badly decomposed. According to sources, the body doesn't appear to have suffered any trauma.

The earliest the body will be identified is on Thursday.
