Deceased man receiving voter registration card ever year in mail

Woman says deceased husband still receives voter registration card every year

DETROIT – Sherry Brown's husband passed away ten years ago, but she says every two years he receives a voter registration card in the mail.

Robert Ramone Brown passed away in February 2003 at the age of 49 and his wife wonders why her husband is still receiving a voter's card.

Almost a decade ago, the City of Detroit was rocked by a scandal when former Jackie Currie, the Detroit City Clerk at the time, was accused of accepting ballots from people who'd been long-since deceased.

In 2005, Janice Winfrey won the seat and vowed one of her jobs would be to clean up the voter rolls, but somehow Brown is still receiving one.
