Monroe gas station clerk attacked by bat during robbery

Robber gets away with money from Shell station on North Dixie Highway

MONROE, Mich. – A Monroe County gas station clerk was beaten with a bat early Tuesday morning during a robbery on North Dixie Highway.

Deputies say the robber entered a Shell gas station around 1 a.m. and beat the clerk with the bat before getting away with some money.

The suspect is described as being a white male, wearing sweat pants and a dark hooded jacket.

The condition of the clerk hasn't been released.
