Campbell Ewald to move 600 employees to downtown Detroit
Warren company will move to Ford Field's JL Hudson Warehouse in downtown Detroit
The company spent its first 65 years in the city of Detroit, then the next 35 in Warren. Now, 600 workers will move into the old J. L. Hudson Warehouse at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.
"The reason we think it's the right time is the vitality, the entrepreneurial spirit and the creativity of the community in Detroit," Ludwig said.
Mayor Dave Bing may be battling crime and a financial tailspin, but young people and businesses are moving in.
"This once again is an indication that our city is coming back. I think we've seen our worst days, we've not seen our best days yet," Bing said.
The income taxes paid by those 600 workers will come in handy.
Detroit Lions President Tom Lewand says Campbell Ewald will be their anchor tenant.
"It's a fulfillment of the Ford family vision to do something with this space beyond being a stadium," said Lewand.
