OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A motorcycle crash has shut down the intersection between Maple and Drake roads in Oakland County.

The crash occurred on Monday (June 1) at 1:30 p.m. in West Bloomfield Township.

Police said the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash that prompted the closure.

Officials said the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police and firefighters said they responded to the scene and provided emergency assistance.

Officers said the rider was transported by the West Bloomfield Fire Department to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials have not released the rider’s identity or provided an update on their condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
