William Schaffer accused of having pornographic DVDs, images

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – A 71-year-old Birmingham man is facing federal charges for allegedly having a stash of child porn.
According to a criminal complaint against William Schaffer, a U.S. Postal Inspector tipped off investigators that Shaffer was buying DVDs of child porn off the internet and having them shipped to his home.

A search of Shaffer's home last year uncovered videos involving minor boys as well as graphic stories and images.
Police also found a Westland police report from October 1987 that alleges Shaffer molested a boy who was between 8 and 9 years old while he was a Child Protective Services employee.
He has been charged with receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
