Dearborn dollar store employee killed, co-worker abducted, still missing after apparent robbery
20-year-old man found shot dead at Dearborn Family Dollar store, 20-year-old co-worker missing
The 20-year-old assistant manager was abducted Monday evening from her job at the Family Dollar on Michigan Avenue. Police say employees arrived at the store Tuesday morning to find the place trashed. They also found the body of their coworker, 20-year-old Joseph Orlando.
Orlando had been shot and killed. Family members say he was a hard worker who spent a year looking for a job. He had just started his job at the Family Dollar this past Friday.
Now, his family is grieving and left wondering who killed their loved one.
Dearborn police search for killer, abductor
"We're gonna get to the bottom of this and we're going to leave no stone unturned," said Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad. "I'm going to throw every resource the Dearborn police has behind this crime and we'll bring the person or persons to justice on this."
Police released surveillance video and images of a man they are calling a suspect in this case. Video shows the man walking into the Family Dollar Monday night.
