Man charged with murder in Warren woman's death

Theresa DeKeyzer reported missing in June; Body found in drum at storage facility in September

WARREN, Mich. – A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death a 22-year-old Warren woman whose body was found stuffed inside a plastic drum at a storage facility.

Scott Wobbe pleaded not-guilty Tuesday at his arraignment. He's also charged with kidnapping and dismemberment.

Wobbe had been jailed in Midland County for violating probation in a drug case. He will be held without bond pending an Oct. 28 preliminary examination.

Theresa DeKeyzer was reported missing in June. Her body was found in September in a cement-filled drum at Travel Trailer Storage in Plymouth Township.

"We were able to confirm through tips that there was a trailer that was in Mr. Wobbe's possession for several years, that was not registered to him, that was put at a residence in Westland. We confirmed that it was placed there by Mr. Wobbe and confirmed that he had been to that home a day later and changed the locks on the trailer," said Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green. "Then the trailer was moved to a storage facility in Plymouth Township where, ultimately, the body was recovered."

Green said Wobbe paid the rent through a third party. DeKeyzer's body was found Sept. 18, Green said, when police executed a search warrant at the storage facility.

"We executed a search warrant on the trailer and found a 55-gallon plastic drum. The (Michigan State Police) bomb squad came in, did X-rays and we were very confident at that time that there was a person/body inside that drum," said Green.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's office said dental records, clothing descriptions, an earring and a tattoo were used to identify DeKeyzer.

At the time, police said Wobbe, who had a relationship with DeKeyzer, was a suspect in her death.
